HIPAA Compliance Policy

At OBC Industries, we understand the importance of protecting the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI). In accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), we have implemented the following policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the law.

Access to PHI:

  • Only authorized personnel have access to PHI, and access is limited to what is necessary to perform their job duties.

  • PHI is stored in secure databases and servers, and access to these systems is protected by strong passwords and multi-factor authentication.

Disclosure of PHI:

  • We will not disclose PHI to any third party without the written consent of the individual, except as required by law.

  • If a client requests a copy of their PHI, we will provide it in a timely manner and in a format that is easy to read and understand.

Security Measures:

  • We have implemented physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to protect PHI from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

  • We regularly monitor our systems for suspicious activity and take appropriate action to prevent breaches of PHI.

Training:

  • All employees and contractors who handle PHI receive HIPAA compliance training, and are required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

  • We provide ongoing training and education to ensure that all employees and contractors stay up to date with the latest HIPAA regulations.
